A proper Catalan / Spanish tapas bar and bodega with an almost european beer hall vibe. A great place for large groups looking to combine food and drinks in an authentic environment. That authenticity extends to the service, which while generally speedy enough can sometimes feel a little brusque. That aside, the place oozes character, from the pictures and neon on the walls to the ceiling that is filled with the traditional hanging hams of yesteryear that used to be so common, but are now hard to find. The restaurant has a great selection of tapas and more significant dishes if you're looking for a main meal. Prices and quality are excellent. All self-respecting Catalan bodegas show the Barca football, and El Bodegón has a pull down projector for this; but this isn't a sports bar and the atmosphere is more family oriented and relaxed. El Bodegón is the quintessential example of the "off the beaten track" place that locals frequent that hasn't attempted to just cash in on the tourist trade. If you're heading up to Gracia from the south, then El Bodegón makes a good pitstop between El Cine and Raim Bar.
