Temple is your classic plastic, tourist Irish pub, but at least it's done well. The location is perfect for those tourist pub crawls, and it has a huge projection screen for the sports fans who want to watch the Premiership whilst on their hols. There are also plenty of high quality flat screen TVs dotted about so that you're in no danger of missing any of the sporting action. There's wood panelling everywhere, and an upstairs area that increases the capacity of the pub considerably. Naturally, the Temple is always popular with the tourist crowd from all over Europe, so there are interesting accents to be heard left, right and centre. Like all pubs in the centre, there's a vast selection of beers, lagers, cider and Guinness. Those of you who have a soft spot for the black stuff will appreciate the difference between your typical, average foreign pint of Guinness and a well crafted pint - so if it's a superior pint you're after you should probably try Scobies, but the Temple's pint is passable. It's hard to say that the Temple has any particularly interesting or unusual character, because it doesn't. The bottom line is that if you're near the Ramblas and fancy a pint, the Temple Bar is an easy, if uninspiring, win.

NB For those who prefer their tipple without the benfits of inebriation, though this abode has non-alcoholic beers they are 'child sized' and expensive!

Handbag thieves operate in this bar and security does not exist during the day. My partners handbag was stolen here and the response from the manager was shocking. He actually said that "these were poor people who had no work in the villages who come into the city because people like me come to see the sights". He actually tried to blame the tourists for the shockingly high crime rate here ! Anyway, the pub isnt the best for watching football as the large screen isn't well positioned. Drinks prices are HIGH and more expensive than the Hard Rock. The staff were generally friendly though. However, why Barcelona ? We got robbed 3 times in 8 days and will never go back. It's a city full of thieving scumbags and not that pretty anyway!

Whoever made the last comment obviously didnt have their eyes open if they got robbed 3 times in 8 days. Dont blame the bar or the city because you didnt keep an eye one your belongings.

What an exceptionally strange comment from "anonymous" above. Are you the Temple Bar manager who seemed sympathetic to these bag thieves ? If the city wasn't FULL to the rafters with thieves, I wouldn't NEED to keep an eye on my things 100% of the time! So, yes... I DO blame the city. Don't criticise me for having things stolen because I shamefully took my eyes of them for a few seconds to send a text message. For the record, in addition to my partner having her handbag stolen in the Temple Bar, she also had money stolen from her jeans pocket (which I hear is surprisingly common). Will you blame her too for being stupid enough not to walk around all day with her hands in her pockets ? The third incident was where items were stolen from our hotel room. I hardly think any of those incidents were our "fault". The city is full of crime and the sooner that people stop going there, the sooner the Police will start taking things a little more seriously. The night time security people at the Temple Bar were fine, but as I pointed out in my earlier message, there was no security at all during the day.

It's a good place to go if you like being accused by a retarded jobsworth of being drunk and refused to serve after getting out of the way of a member of staff in a crowded bar
